Ingredients

  • 16 oz. 450g 93% lean ground turkey (Jennie-O brand preferred)
  • ¼ cup 25g dried breadcrumbs (or use whole wheat breadcrumbs)
  • ½ teaspoon 3g salt
  • ¼ teaspoon 2g freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon heaping (2g) garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon heaping (2g) onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon heaping (2g) paprika, regular or smoked
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 teaspoons 10ml Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons 5-6g chopped fresh parsley (optional), or substitute 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon 15ml olive oil
  • 4-6 slices cheese of your choice I like to use cheddar or Colby Jack
  • 4-6 hamburger buns of your choice toasted if desired (I like French or brioche style buns)

Instructions

  • Combine all the burger ingredients in a medium sized mixing bowl and mix thoroughly using your hands.
  • Separate the mixture into 4-6 evenly sized portions, and form each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Lightly coat a grill or skillet with oil or nonstick spray, and cook burgers over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Flip and cook until burgers are golden brown and their internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
  • If desired, top with a slice of cheese and leave burger on the grill until cheese is slightly melted.
  • Place burger on bun, top with desired condiments and toppings, and serve immediately.

Notes

Nutrition data is for a medium burger (1/6 recipe) patty only, without bun or toppings.
